Livelihood NYC currently incubates the CLE Cooperative, a worker-owned business that provides continuing legal education (CLE) with a focus on supporting sustainable economies. Members of the CLE Cooperative are encouraged to teach CLEs to other members and are given access to discounted CLEs provided by other lawyers in the cooperative.
Many of the programs organized by the CLE Cooperative are open to the public. These programs may cover topics such as legal issues affecting cooperatives, corporate governance, compliance issues, nonprofit law, and securities law. They may also deal with new economy issues that are not strictly legal in nature, such as community development, community organizing, cooperative principals, and mindfulness practice in the legal profession.
The CLE cooperative charges fees for CLEs and pays its members according to their hours worked. If you are interested in joining the cooperative or teaching a class, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
